Conditioning For Golf

Unfortunately, golfers are not looked at as athletes, and each game played they are putting their bodies in positions they are not used to and using muscles they have not conditioned properly. The force used to swing a golf club is that of a major league baseball player swinging a baseball bat, and they prepare year round and are still injured often. So why should a golfer be any different? Some golfers do a stretch or two on the first tee box and that’s it! Imagine how much better you would feel or even play with a simple exercise routine done specifically for those muscles used in your golf game. You will be able to make it through a round without an aching back or a sore arm, you will also hit the ball more crisp and even farther. Most of all you will increase your overall fitness without even realizing it! MAKE SENSE?..........We think so!

You can have the best equipment money can buy, but if you cannot swing the club with maximum power and full range of motion, that equipment will not work. Serious golfers spend countless hours on the practice range and often do not put the time in to condition the body. Professional golfers have made considerable advances in the fitness side of golf, because they realize the importance of being able to play to the best of their ability year round.

Golf is a game that should be enjoyed your entire life, and the easiest way to accomplish this is to stay healthy, strong and injury free. A weekly general fitness routine is important for anyone, but adding golf specific exercises and stretching into that routine can catapult your golf game to new levels.
